Pizza at the market!
This week we welcome GalloLea Organics to Weaverville, they will be on hand with their pizza kits, something not to miss. In case the photo doesn’t look tempting enough, they’ll give you a sample. Sometimes more than one. Hey, it’s pizza. They’ve got kits that include a dry dough mix, sauce, and parchment for easy cleanup. And instructions too.
The pizzas are simple in ingredients, and simple to prepare, making them both fun and healthful. Try to talk the children into fixing dinner for you. Check them out. Plus they have samples, don’t forget… and we’ve got plenty of things for pizza toppings at market, although honestly some of them I would absolutely not ever put on pizza, but that’s a matter of personal taste, or lack thereof…
Fresh this week: sugar snap peas, cucumbers, yellow squash, turnips, radishes, beets, carrots, Asian greens, lettuce, mesclun mix, kale, chard, arugula, scallions, spinach. Goats milk for pets, goat cheeses for you. Fresh eggs, lamb, heritage chickens, beef. Jams (apparently 20+ varieties, I want someone to go count them and tell me if it’s true), sauces, pesto, spreads and hummus. Stuff with no gluten, stuff with lots of gluten. Flowers. Jewelry. Hand-painted clothing for folks of all sizes. Hand-painted faces. Serviceberries, although not many so come early for these. But not before we are set up because this confuses us. Music, homemade ice cream. Yum.
See you Wednesday!
